Bishop Greer Godsey
I am Bishop Greer Godsey, pastor of Saint Francis Parish and Outreach in Augusta, Georgia. I have spent my ministry on the streets, at the margins, and alongside people the Church has too often overlooked. That is not an accident. That is a calling.
At Saint Francis Parish and Outreach, we hold the ancient Catholic faith with both hands and we extend it to every person without exception. We are liturgically rooted, sacramentally serious, and radically welcoming. We practice open communion. We celebrate marriages for all couples. We welcome LGBTQIA+ persons fully into the life and sacraments of the Church. We serve those experiencing homelessness and poverty through our Human First outreach ministry. And we gather every Sunday at 3:00 PM at 557 Greene Street in Augusta for a celebration of the Holy Eucharist that is as ancient as the Church and as open as the Gospel.
If you have been hurt by a church, we understand. If you have given up on faith, we get it. If you are simply looking for a place where you will be welcomed without conditions, this is that place.
