Meet The Pastor
What a privilege it is to serve as pastor to a wonderful church like First United Methodist!
Sunday mornings are a gift to me and to the community, as together we worship and pray and search the scriptures and sing and enjoy music that stirs and touches the heart. You will find a place here, whether you prefer traditional worship with choir and organ (8:00 and 9:30) or a more contemporary and relaxed style with a praise band (11:00). We have choirs for all ages and a bell choir, and you would be welcome in any of them.
You’ll find classes for persons of all ages, where the Bible is studied and children, youth, and adults are shaped into more faithful followers of Jesus Christ. You’ll find opportunities for fun and fellowship and mutual support in a wide range of activities and sports and caring circles; in our ministries of music and caring and wellness. You’ll find meaningful opportunities for serving the world through our mission support of United Methodist Outreach Ministries, participation in the Back to School Backpack drive, outreaches into the community to be a good neighbor, Thanksgiving turkey drive, and a dazzling array of other ministries.
Best of all, you will find a welcoming environment and have a chance to meet other folks who are striving to be more faithful; to live in a way that makes the love of Jesus Christ visible in the world.
Come by for a visit. You don’t have to dress up or be fancy. Be you. You are who God made you to be, and we would like to get to know you, just as you are, for Jesus’ sake.
