BELIEFS

The Bible We believe that Bible to be given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, infallible, and God’s revealed word to man. (2 Timothy 3:15-17) God There is only one true and living God who was chosen to reveal Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22) Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the Son if God and the son of man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and thus, atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. He came to save man from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as an atonement and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him. (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35; John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21) The Holy Spirit The baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it and He is at work in the world helping unbelievers become aware of their need for Jesus. He also lives within every believer, providing them with power for life and service. (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:4; John 14:16-18, 6:63; Romans 8:5) Profession of Faith Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one professes by faith that Jesus Christ as the Son of God and accepts His gift of grace and life. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1) Man Man, created in the image of God, became a sinful being in need of redemption through Christ. (Genesis 1:26-31; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29; John 6:44; Romans 5:12-21; 1 Corinthians 2:14) Death and Resurrection Man is subject to the death of the body as a result of original sin. The soul and spirit do not die, but immediately after death enter into a conscious state of happiness or misery according to the character here possessed by rejection or acceptance of the Savior. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to everlasting life and the lost without Christ to everlasting torment and darkness. (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Romans 5:12; Philippians 1:23) Healing The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:4-5; James 5:14-16; Acts 8:6-7; I Corinthians 12:9; 1 Peter 2:24) Christ’s Return We believe and wait the imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
