BELIEFS

The Word: We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New were verbally inspired by God, inerrant and preserved in the original writing; that they are absolute and final authority in faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). That the Bible is only properly understood when it is rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15; Ephesians 3:1-11). We also believe that the proper Bible translation for English speaking people is the King James Version. Trinity: We believe in the trinity of the Godhead; one God eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 14:16; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Hebrews 9:14) God: We believe that God the Father is a spirit (John 4:24), infinite (Acts 15:18), eternal (Psalms 90:1-2), and unchangable (James 1:17) in His being wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth (Psalms 102:26-27). Although He loves all mankind (John 3:16), His blessings are reserved for those who have come to Him through His Son. His Name is Father. He is the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and of all those who trust in Him (Ephesians 1:3-5). Jesus Christ: We believe in the absolute Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:14; Colossians 1:13-19), in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-25): His perfect humanity (that is, it was impossible for our Lord to have sinned (John 1:1-14; Acts 3:14; Galatians 4:4; Philippians 2:6-8; John 8:29; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22)): His vicarious death through the shedding of his blood for the remission of sins (Romans 3:25): His bodily resurrection and ascension (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9): His present intercessory ministry (Romans 8:34): and in the imminence of His literal , personal, pre-tribulation, and pre-millennial appearing for the church, the Body of Christ (1 Thessalonians 4:17-18; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52). Holy Spirit: We believe in the personality and Deity of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17; Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 8:14-27). He indwells, guides and empowers the believer through Scripture to do the will of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-16; Philippians 2:13) Satan: We believe in the reality and personality of Satan (John 8:44; Isaiah 14:12-14; Ephesians 6:11-12; 1 Peter 5:8) Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27); that he sinned and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God (Romans 5:12), and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature (Romans 3:10; Romans 3:23), and must be saved by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-13) and those who reach moral responsibility, become accountable for their works and unbelief (Revelation 20:11-15). Salvation: We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in virtue of His redemptive work on the cross, which is made available to all (1 Timothy 2:6; 2 Corinthians 5:15). We believe that salvation is offered to all and that everyone can be saved (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:13). Neither baptism, the Lord’s Supper, nor any rite, ceremony, or work can avail one whit for salvation (Titus 3:5; John 14:6; 1 John 2:1-2). Christ alone saves. The Church: We believe that the invisible Church, the Body of Christ, is made up of all those who have been saved under God’s mystery program as revealed to and through the Apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Colossians 1:1b), but does not include those saved under God’s prophetic program. The mission of the Church is set forth by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 and Ephesians 3:1-12. The destiny of the Church is to appear at the judgment seat of Christ when we will meet Him in the air, and then to rule and reign with Jesus Christ in the heavenlies (2 Corinthians 5:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Ephesians 1:17-23; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3). We believe that the Church of this dispensation had its historical/Scriptural beginning with the proclamation of spiritual blindness upon the Nation of Israel by the Apostle Paul and the events as set forth in the Book of Acts (Acts 13:4-11; Romans 11:25). Baptism: We believe all saved persons of this dispensation have been made members of the Body of Christ by one divine baptism (1 Corinthians 12:13, and by that one baptism, every member of the Body of Christ is identified with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. We conclude that water baptism has no place in God’s spiritual program for the Body of Christ in this day of grace in the light of the one baptism of Ephesians 4:5; and the statements concerning baptism in Colossians 2:12 and Romans 6:3; and Paul’s statement in 1 Corinthians 1:17 that “Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Gospel.” Lord’s Supper: We believe the communion of the Lord’s Supper as revealed by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 is for the members of the Body of Christ to observe as a remembrance, “until He appears.” Prayer: We believe it is the Lord’s will in this dispensation for believers to pray constantly, concerning all things (Ephesians 5:20; Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18; Romans 8:26-27). Gifts: We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowment of all His gifts; and that the gifts necessary for the ministry of the Body of Christ are those enumerated in Romans 12:3-9 and Ephesians 4:7-16. The miraculous sign gifts of the Acts period such as speaking in tongues, the working of sign miracles, and such (1 Corinthians 12:1-31) being temporary in nature gradually ceased as the Scriptures were completed and the Scripture’s authority became established (1 Corinthians 18:8-11; Ephesians 4:7-12; Colossians 1:25). Security: We believe in the eternal salvation of the regenerate (John 10:28-30; Romans 8:28-39; Ephesians 1:13-14; Titus 1:2). Future: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) and we believe when a saved person is absent from the body, he is present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23). We believe the blessed hope of the Church is the imminent, personal, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial return of the Lord in the air to rapture into glory all members of His Body, both those who are alive, as well as those who have died, forever to be with the Lord and shall stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; Romans 14:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10). The Second Coming of Christ will occur after the time of the Great Tribulation upon the earth. Christ shall return to earth in power and great glory to reign as King of Kings over Israel and the nations (Revelation 19:11; Revelation 21:6). We believe in the bodily resurrection of the unjust (John 5:28-29) and the eternal condemnation and endless suffering of the unregenerate (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:10; Revelation 21:8). When an unsaved person dies, he awaits the Great White Thr;one judgment in conscious torment in hell (Luke 16:22-23; Revelation 20:13-14). All the unsaved are without hope (Ephesians 2:12) and they will be raised bodily to stand before the Great White Throne at the final judgment and will be cast into the Lake of Fire, which is the Second Death, where they will be tormented day and night, forever and ever (Revelation 20:10-15).
Eternal Security: No, Can't Lose
