About City Central Church

City Central Church was founded in the late 1990s as a young adult Saturday night worship service seeking revival, freedom in Christ and God's heart for the emerging generation. Over the years, the church has matured, moved to Sunday mornings and come to include all ages. But it still maintains that hunger for God and radical commitment to follow Christ that marked its early days.

City Central Vision & Values

City Central Church aims to be a community that is real with God and one another, worshipping Jesus with our lives. We want nothing more than to be like Christ and to advance his Kingdom. We look for opportunities to reach the lost with the good news about Jesus Christ. We seek the restoration of the broken from from places of deception, addiction, wounding and injustice. And finally, we are a training center: We want our own members as well as visitors to leave our house more equipped to carry out the call of God on their lives.

In addition to these visionary ideals, the culture of our church can identified by a number of practical distinctives. We are grounded in the Word of God and also rely on the enabling and gifting of the Holy Spirit. In humility, we seek to live from the place of God's presence, by His authority and in community and unity with each other. We minister first to the Lord, then to our brothers and sisters in Christ and finally to the world around us. We believe God's voice is meant to be heard, His healing is meant to be experienced and our hearts are capable of being transformed. We believe we have a responsibility to train and raise up the next generation called to follow Christ and also that our experience of God's kingdom on this earth should include a love for (and a brotherhood with) the diversity of the ethnicities and nations that comprise His Kingdom.

City Central Church Worship

City Central Worship

Worship is a bedrock of who we are at City Central. Sunday mornings are times of worship, praise and adoration to the King of Kings. There is something about raising our voices as one body of believers that ascribes to God the glory He deserves while binding us together as a band of worshippers, imparting unique individual revelation of God's majesty and filling us afresh with His Spirit to empower us for the week that lay ahead.

Worship Director Jason Bradley has been leading worship in one capacity or another at City Central Church for nearly 20 years. He and his wife, Gretchen, have written numerous songs, some of which we sing on Sunday mornings, and have released two albums of worship. But more importantly, they have sought to worship with their lives — discipling and pouring into the lives of many young adults while raising their three children.

Worship at City Central Church is a mix of contemporary and occasionally traditional songs of praise, including worship songs by artists from the International House of Prayer, Bethel Music and several other songwriters and artists from evangelical and charismatic backgrounds.

Our Services

We have two Sunday morning worship services at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. On Wednesday nights, our youth group and Kids' Prayer Room regularly meet at 6:30 p.m. Adult classes on a wide range of subjects also are offered from time to time at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. On Sunday nights, Encounter is a worship service attended by many young adults at 5:00 p.m.

BELIEFS

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant and inspired Word of God, and that God's Word is His complete and perfect love letter to mankind, revealing Himself and His will.

The Trinity

We believe that God the Father has established order and sovereignty over all things according to His grace and perfect purpose, and that He has preordained those He elected to save from eternity. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, without sin. He died an atoning death, was raised on the third day, is currently seated at the right hand of the Father and will return for his spotless bride, the church. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells within every Christian at the moment of salvation, regenerates them unto new birth, sanctifies them unto holiness and endues each believer with gifts to effectively win the lost and edify the church. We believe God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are one eternal God in essence, but distinct and co-equal persons making up the Trinity.

Mankind

We believe God created man and woman, and that every man and woman has chosen willfully to disobey God's revealed will. Man therefore is utterly depraved, deserving of death and incapable of salvation apart from God's elective grace.

Salvation

We believe God has graciously provided one way that man may avoid sin's penalty of death, eternal separation from God and continuous punishment — that each individual person must by grace place faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, receive forgiveness and repent from sin.

The Church

We believe the church of God consists of all who have truly placed saving faith in Jesus Christ and will spend eternity with Him.

Eternity

We believe in the resurrection in bodily form of both those who have been saved and those who are lost. The lost will appear before Christ for judgment and be cast into the Lake of Fire, and the saved will appear before Christ to receive any rewards and dwell with Him for eternity.
