BELIEFS

"For by grace you have been saved through faith and this is not your own doing, it is a gift of God, least any man should boast. For we have been created in Christ Jesus to do good works." Ephesians 2:8-10. NOTE: works of the law are not good works, good works are from the work of the love of Christ in a person and created by the power of the Holy Spirit! The apostle Paul in Romans 8 helps one to understand this and helps us in Romans 7 to know that we can't even do the good we want or keep from doing the bad that we hate, but "Thanks be to God who gives us the victory in our Lord Jesus Christ!" Romans 8:1 We are a Christian Church! We believe God is One! God expresses His being in a amazing, miraculous way in 3 persons: God the Father/Creator of Heaven and Earth; Jesus, God the Son, the Living Word, Savior, Redeemer, Best Friend, Shepherd, the Great I AM, Alpha and Omega, Bread of Life, Equal to God; and God Holy Spirit, who through the Word of God , makes us alive in a real relationship with Jesus and the Father in Heaven and dwells in the Holy Spirit in our being! Faith is real! God bestows it to all who "Seek First the Kingdom of God and His (Jesus') Righteousness." Matthew 6:33. He gives us His salvation already when we are not able to believe by our own power, beginning our faith, as empty sinful vessels in Baptism when God's name is pronounced over us with the cleansing simple water (H20) by faith to forgive sin! Incredible! Then as one grows and matures in the faith, the Lord's Supper with simple bread and wine, IS our Lord filling our life with His very life that we remember he gave on the cross to forgive all our sin and the sins of the whole world from the beginning of time until the end of time! We believe we can't save ourselves! Law and Gospel is the Answer in Jesus! The 10 Commandments are not so much to be obeyed as they show us that we don't obey God loving Him above all things and our neighbor as ourself; we need to be saved! The Gospel is the truth that God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only begotten Son (Jesus) to die for us on the cross to save us of our sin! John 3:16-17. The Bible is infallible and the only source and norm of Christian faith without error. Scripture is interpreted by Scripture itself and not by man (who is fallible) by the over arching truth that Jesus is Savior and Lord of All, the only true God! Jesus is a true historical person that tens of thousands of people will testify while he ministered in Jerusalem, Samaria, Galilee, Caesarea, etc... in the first part of the first century, that saw the miracles of Jesus and over 500 people testify to His Resurrection. He is real! He is Alive! He is Coming Again! He loves You! To find out more about Jesus please call or write an email to Pastor James Jobst at 913-219-0022 or pjjobst@gmail.com
