BELIEFS
Values that shape our life and ministry flow from the Gospel:
Community – The Gospel calls us into a new, Jesus-centered family where we care for and encourage one another, help each other grow into mature followers of Jesus, and visibly demonstrate to the world what God’s new community of love looks like. We rejoice that the Gospel invites people of all cultures and backgrounds into a family of faith that lives out the welcoming, embracing and healing power of the Kingdom of God.
Transformation – The liberating power of the Gospel gives us a new identity in Christ and frees us to live for the glory of God. In this new life, we are being transformed from the inside out by the power of the Holy Spirit so that we are constantly becoming more like Jesus.
Good News - The Gospel is the true and joyful story of God centered in the life and saving work of Jesus Christ. The Gospel proclaims God’s gracious, unconditional love and calls for a response of repentance and belief in Jesus as Savior and Lord of all. It is our joy to proclaim God's grace to all people and to invite and encourage them in the Jesus way of life.
Loving – Everything we do starts with love… loving God, loving each other, and loving our neighbor. We extend the love we have received from God by doing what Jesus exemplified and taught in the message of the Gospel.
Blessing – It is our joy to live the Gospel “out loud” by sacrificially caring for and blessing the people God sends us to with a no-strings-attached approach. We demonstrate the Gospel in action by building relationships with people where they are, providing for those in need, extending compassion, working for justice and righteousness, and doing it all without expectation.
Influencing – God’s Word promises the renewal of all things. We believe the Gospel will make a powerful impact on our valley. We therefore encourage every follower of Jesus to go exert a wholesome, loving, and godly influence in every arena of life including family, work, service, culture and the arts. We commit ourselves to manifesting God’s compassion, righteousness and justice; working for reconciliation; and pouring God’s love on the hurting and oppressed.
Kingdom Focus – We desire to go and share the Gospel in all of its fullness as the Holy Spirit sends and empowers us. We believe every local church is part of the great movement of the Kingdom of God proclaimed by Jesus and we are committed to working in vital partnerships with other congregations to advance the Kingdom of God on earth.
Prayer – Trusting only in God’s strength, guidance and provision, we believe the most powerful action we can take in fulfilling our mission is to pray. Our relationship with God in prayer enables us to hear God’s voice to go and be like Jesus to others, brings unity to our efforts, and provides us with the wisdom and power needed to fulfill our calling. Prayer therefore lies at the heart of all we do.
