BELIEFS
The longing and yearning in your heart is indication there is a personal God, and from the depths of that longing and yearning comes evidence your natural relationship with Him is broken.
In Grace Lutheran Church you will not be given moralistic ‘how to’ lessons to fix your broken relationship with God because the Word of God says that is impossible for you to do and will leave you eternally separated from Him.
Nor will you be given therapeutic ‘be happy’ affirmations it is okay to go on living in your broken relationship with God because the Word of God says that is foolish for you to do and will result in eternal condemnation for you.
Nor will you be given manipulative ‘health and wealth’ enticements to mask your broken relationship with God because the Word of God says that will leave you despairing of Him when inevitably you suffer.
Instead, in this church you will be given the Gospel – the Good News that your broken relationship with God is restored only in Jesus Christ – true God who became a true human also and who historically lived, suffered, died, and rose from death to life to forgive your sins.
Here, you will hear that you are a sinner, in Christ your sins are forgiven, and in Christ your life is transformed – often through suffering. For by means of the Word of God in Divine Service, Holy Baptism, Holy Communion, and Holy Absolution, Grace Lutheran Church believes, teaches, and confesses, only the forgiveness of sins can fix our broken relationship with God and transform how we live Life Together now until we live with Him forever.
