God created man in His image, which means we’re like Him in character. Although men and women have the potential for good, we have a tendency to be disobedient. In other words, we’re inherently sinful. This attitude, or sin, separates us from God.

As men and women, we were created to exist forever. We will either exist together with God through salvation or separated from God because of sin. Eternal separation from God is called Hell. Experiencing eternal life in union with Him is called Heaven. These are places of eternal existence.

[Jesus]
God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to save the world. Although Jesus was miraculously born to Mary, a virgin, He is both fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins by dying on a cross. After three days Jesus rose from the dead and demonstrated His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven, and one day he will return to earth to reign as king. Until his return, we have been given the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Salvation is a gift from God to man. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and accepting God’s forgiveness can we be saved from the penalty of sin. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith.
