OUR MISSION
Making Church Participatory and Connective
The mission of Karis is to facilitate face to face connection at the table. We receive communion together, pray the sacred prayers, and have conversation around a theological teaching shared during the week. Through these practices, we hope to deepen our connection with one another and expand our worlds. We want to make more room in our lives for a loving and active God who is greater than we have imagined. We also want to make more room for people we might not otherwise encounter.
ABOUT KARIS COMMUNITY
Karis Community is a community for people interested in engaging with love-centered Christian thought and theology. Our intention is to explore a more connective and participatory way of doing church together.
Each week, we send out a video for members to watch and then gather over breakfast on Sunday morning to discuss it together. Our gatherings are built around communion, liturgical prayer, and honest, open conversation. Rather than gathering around a sermon or a single teacher, we gather around the table, where everyone is invited to share and learn from one another.
This community is for those looking for a more participatory expression of the Christian faith. It’s a place to thoughtfully engage with the Christian tradition, consider the work of a loving God in our lives, and explore what it means to love our neighbors in tangible ways.
All are welcome at the table, regardless of background, belief, identity, or where you find yourself on your spiritual journey.
