Our Mission

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not l hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

About East West Church

When you visit us here at East West Church you can expect to be warmly welcomed into a close knit compassionate body of believers, who are excited about Jesus Christ and actively going outside the four walls to make Him known! We preach a well balanced message that is Christ centered, insightful, fresh and most importantly Spirit lead. We currently have a solid prison ministry team and hold badges in several state prisons here in Illinois, we eventually are aiming to have a halfway house for men and woman. We often hold events in local parks and other outdoor venues spreading the good news of the gospel. We currently hold services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights! Come join us in fellowship!

BELIEFS

1. The Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative written Word of God (Psalm 119; Matthew 4:4; Luke 24:27). 2. There is one God, eternally co-existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). 3. In the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His Sinless Life, in His Miracles, in His Vicarious and atoning Death, in His Bodily Resurrection, in His Ascension to the Right Hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this Earth in Power and Glory to rule a thousand years known as the Millennial Reign, after which the earth will be renovated with fire, sin totally abolished and the New Heaven and New Earth only existing for eternity (John 1:1-4; Ephesians 2:13-18; 2 Peter 3:12; Revelation Chapters 19-20; 21:1-3). 4. In the Blessed Hope-the Rapture of the Church as seen in Scripture not to take place until the fullness of the Gentiles (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). 5. The sinfulness of man is such: all of mankind was born with a sin nature inherited from the first Adam and apart from God’s intervening Grace alone. It is impossible to redeem oneself through works of any kind (Romans 3:23; 5:9-18; Ephesians 2:8-9). 6. The only means of being cleansed from sin is through Repentance towards God and Faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21; Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8-9, 13-18). Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal Salvation (John 3:5-8; Titus 3:5). 7. The Redemptive Work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer (Exodus 15:25-26; James 5:14-15; 1 Peter 2:24). 8. The Baptism with the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, is given to Believers who ask for it and will undoubtedly speak with other tongues which is the initial physical evidence. The baptism with the Holy Spirit was commanded by Jesus Christ in Acts chapter 1 and preached strongly by the Apostles throughout the book of Acts. (Acts 1:4&5; Acts 8:14-17; Acts 10:44-46; Acts 11:15-17; Acts 19:2-6; Jude verse 20 & Joel 2:28&29. 9. We believe Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Therefore, the gifts of the Spirit are for today (Acts 2:10;44-46; 19:1-7; Romans 12:5-8;1 Corinthians 12; Hebrews 13:8). 10.The Sanctifying Power of the Holy Spirit, by Who’s indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life through Grace alone, by Faith alone, in Christ alone (Luke 9:23; Romans 6:3-14; 8:1-2 & 11; 12:1; Galatians 2:20-21). 11. In the Resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to Everlasting Life and the other to everlasting damnation (Revelation 20:5-6, 11-15). 12. Marriage is God-ordained. “The Creator made them male and female, and said, “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” (Matthew 19:4-5) Marriage is to be an exclusive relationship, a lifelong faithful union between a man and a woman. This relationship between a husband and wife should parallel the relationship between Christ and the Church. The Scriptures do not promote LGBT unions, marriages, or lifestyles. Therefore, this church will only officiate a ceremony between a man and woman. Any member of this church is forbidden to practice such lifestyles based upon Scripture (Genesis 2:18; 21-24; Romans 1:21-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:23-30). 13. We practice two ordinances: 1.) Water Baptism by immersion after repenting of one’s sins and receiving the gift of salvation and 2.) Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-34)
