BELIEFS
1. The Bible
The Scriptures are verbally inspired and inerrant in their original manuscripts. They are the final authority in matters of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16,17).
2. God
There is one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is called the Trinity, and is a mystery that has no human parallel. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are co-equal and co-eternal. God is a personal and a perfect God who is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent (Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; Isaiah 6:3).
3. Man
Man was created in God’s image, but became a sinner in nature and practice. He has a material and an immaterial part, and he is in need of salvation (Genesis 1:27, 2:7; Romans 5:12).
4. The Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ was perfectly God and perfectly man. He was without sin, and paid the full penalty for our sins on the cross. He arose bodily from the grave, and is alive forever. Christ is the only Savior for mankind (John 1:1, 14; I Corinthians 15:3,4; John 14:6).
5. Salvation
Salvation is only in and through Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith in Christ, and not saved by good deeds or by religious ordinances. God’s grace saves us and keeps us (Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8,9).
6. Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He has come to glorify Christ, and to draw people to Christ. There are many ministries and gifts of the Spirit. The Spirit regenerates, baptizes, indwells and fills believers. Every believer should be filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit (John 16:7-14; I Corinthians 12:4-13; Ephesians 5:18).
7. The Church
The Church is composed of all who have accepted Christ. The local church is a local geographical place where believers meet together. The function of the church is threefold: 1) to win the lost to Christ; 2) to disciple and mature believers; and 3) to worship God (Ephesians 2:19-22, 4:11-13; Matthew 28:19,20).
8. Last Things
Jesus Christ is personally coming back again from Heaven. It will be a blessing for the saved, but judgment for the unsaved. There will be a resurrection both for the saved, and the unsaved. The saved will spend eternity in Heaven with Christ, and the unsaved in Hell, forever (II Thessalonians 1:7-10; John 5:28; Revelation 20:11-15).
