Our Mission

Our mission is to make as many people as much like Jesus Christ in the shortest time possible. There are three key points in our mission, and all three spring from the Great Commission given in Matthew 28:19-20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (NIV). First, there is evangelism. We want to reach as many people as possible with the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. Second, there is discipleship. We seek to teach new believers to obey all that Jesus taught his followers, so they can grow to be more like Jesus. Third, there is the element of time. Jesus tells us that he will be with us to the end of the age—but that means that there will be an end to this age. In other words, we do not have forever to accomplish our mission. Our purpose is to work tirelessly and urgently for the kingdom of God in the time remaining.

BELIEFS

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God, born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit. He died on the cross as a perfect and complete sacrifice in our place and for our sins. He was resurrected and is now our High Priest and advocate before the Father. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin and regenerates the sinner at the moment they accept Christ as Savior. The Holy Spirit indwells, guides, and empowers the believer for godly living and service (Exodus 20:2-3; Psalm 147:5; Isaiah 45:18; Matthew 1:20-23; 3:6-17; 28:19; Luke 24:29; John 1:1-3; 3:5-6; 4:24; 14:9,16,17,26; 16:7-11,13,15; Romans 8:14-1626,27; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:13-14; 4:30; Hebrews 1:5, 8; 4:14, 15; 7:24,25; 8;1,2; 9:24-26; 1 John 1:1-3; 5:7). We believe humanity was created by God in His own image, but in their free will chose to sin. Therefore, the entire human race is lost, and only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ and regeneration of the Holy Spirit can spiritual life be obtained (Genesis 1:26,27; 3:1-7, Romans 3:12,23; 5:12-19, Galatians 3:22). We believe the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments to be the inspired Word of God without error, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith, life, and conduct (Psalm 19:7-11; 119; Matthew 5:17-19; Luke 4:1-12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). We believe that the atoning death of Jesus Christ and his resurrection provides the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe (Luke 19:10; John 1:14; 3:16,18; 5:25; 10:28-29; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-13; Ephesians 2:8,9; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Timothy 2:5; Titus 3:5-7; Hebrews 9:28). We believe in the personal, premillennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that the hope of His appearing has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer (Psalm 9:7,8; Isaiah 9:6,7; 66:22; Jeremiah 3:17; 30:7; Daniel 9:26-27; Joel 3:9-16; Matthew 24:15-22,29-31; 25:31-46; John 5:28-29; 11:25,26; Romans 14:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Philippians 2:10,11; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12; 2 Thessalonians 1:4-9; Jude 14-15; 1 Peter 4:5; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 1:7; 3:10; 10:27; 13:1-8,11-17; 20:1-5, 11-15; 21:1-4). We believe God transforms believers to a lifestyle that reflects His heart and nature. His call is for His people to be holy, as He is holy. This holiness is reflected in our relationships, conduct and ethics (Leviticus 11:45; Romans 12:1-2; 14:13,14; 2 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1; 2 Timothy 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17). We believe that the Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ, of which He is the head. We believe that the church is to live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. The church is called upon to engage in fervent and frequent prayer so that men might live in redemptive relationships with God and man (Matthew 17:21; 28:18-20; John 17; Acts 1:8, 2:42; 1 Corinthians 3:6-9; 10:32; 12:13; 16:1,2; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:8-9; 5:30-31; Colossians 1:18-24; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:8; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 10:25; Jude 20). We believe the church should practice baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper as proper methods of testimony to God’s redemptive work through Jesus Christ our Lord (Matthew 26:26-29; Acts 2:41-42; 18:8, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28). We believe in the existence of angels who worship God and minister to believers. We also believe in the existence of Satan who with his demons oppose God, His people, and His work, but over whom Christians can and ultimately will have spiritual victory (Matthew 10:28; 13:49-50; Luke 16:25-28; John 3:36; 8:21,25; 1 John 5:12, Revelation 21:8).
