About Praise Church of New Orleans

Our goal at Praise Church is to impact the local and surrounding communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Pastors desire to see The Supernatural Power of God invade New Orleans. We believe that now, more than ever, believers must operate and walk in the full authority that God has called them to: to Take Dominion in their Christian walk. Through this ministry, you will find that we place a strong emphasis on The Holy Spirit. We believe that God can and will perform miracles and healings...not just spiritually, but physically.

BELIEFS

WHAT WE BELIEVE Article One We believe in the absolute inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Given by the Holy Spirit with out error, as He moved upon holy men of old. Furthermore, we believe that the church has no authority to establish doctrine or practice contrary to these same scriptures, which were subsequently accepted as canon by the early Christian Church. II Timothy 3:16 Article Two We believe in One God, revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4, II Corinthians 13:4. John 1:1 Article Three We believe that man was made in the image of God and is the crown of creation. He is now by reason of the fall, spiritually depraved and alienated from his creator. Apart from God’s grace, he has no ability to attain to his high calling. Psalms 8:5, Genesis 2:7 Ephesians 2:8-9 Article Four We believe man’s fall was through disobedience. Man cannot save himself apart from the act of grace. Romans. 6:23 Article Five We believe in the salvation of man. Man’s only hope of redemption through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the son of God. Turning away from sin is necessary for atonement. When the sacrificial lamb’s blood is applied sin is blotted out. Jesus restores the sinner back to God.1Peter 2:24 Article Six We believe in justification is by grace through faith in our Lord”s sacrifice on Calvary. Romans 2:21-24 Romans 3:21-26 Article Seven We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. We believe Jesus Christ was begotten, not created, very God , truly God, truly ma, He was born of the virgin, Mary, lived a sinless life, died a vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world, resurrected bodily for our justification , and now reigns in glory until all things be put under his feet. I Timothy 3:16 Article Eight We believe in the priesthood of the believer. This is to say, all people born of God have equal status before, and direct access to, their Lord. 1 Peter 2: 9 Article Nine We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all believers, conforming them to the image of Jesus Christ. I Corinthians 12:13, Romans 8: 9, &16-17 Article Ten We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an endowment of power, subsequent to conversion, given by God to anoint the believer for sanctification and evangelism. It is our understanding that the supernatural charisma of the Holy Spirit is active within the body of Christ until the coming of the Lord. Furthermore, we believe the development of the charismatic gifts ought to be encouraged under the guidance of the local church authorities. Acts 8:14-17, Acts 19:1-2, I Corinthians 12: 4-7 Article Eleven We believe in the Holy Christian church, imperfectly represented on earth, by the various Christian institutions. Her unity is spiritual, her culture diverse and transitional, her mission eternal. Hebrews 12:18-23 Article Twelve We believe in that the calling of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and teacher are functional within the body of Christ until the Lord’s return. Furthermore, these ministries are gifts to the church for the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, that the body of Christ be edified. Ephesians 4:11-16 Article Thirteen We believe the identity of the body of Christ on the earth is primarily perceived through the local church. While encouraging the voluntary association of local churches, and recognizing the need of consensus on matters of fundamental doctrine and conduct, we strongly confess the local church to be sovereign and autonomous. 1 Corinthians 12:14 Article Fourteen We believe in the right of local churches and ministries to form temporal institutions to assist them in carrying out the work of God. At the same time, we reject sectarianism and divisiveness as great evils. Col 1 :24 Article Fifteen We believe in the spiritual unity of all who are born of God. We confess even those with whom we disagree, those who do not confess us, and others who we exclude because of our willful ignorance. I Corinthians 12 12-14 Article Sixteen We believe that those who are called by the names of Christ should depart from iniquity. Understanding that salvation from the penalty of sin only begins the process of redemption, we acknowledge that one work of the Holy Spirit is to create in us the character of Christ. II Timothy 2:19 Article Seventeen We believe that the believer‘s physical body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit, our teacher, will reveal to each believer the areas they should abstain from. A believer should live their life in such a fashion as not to grieve the Holy Spirit of God, which dwells within. The Holy Spirit will directs the believer regarding how to live an overcoming life as they pursue holiness. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Article Eighteen We believe that every believer and church leader should obey the Lord’s instructions by paying tithes and giving of offerings. The tithe is 10% of one’s earnings. The bible teaches that if anyone does not pay their tithe, they bring a curse upon themselves. Offerings are not their tithes but an additional amount one gives, over and beyond the amount of one’s tithe. Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithe into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Romans 14:13 “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.” Ordinances Of the Church Baptism by WaterWe believe those repented of sins and living a life unto the Lord are eligible for Baptism. We believe we are not saved by baptism but are baptized because we are saved. Matt 28:19-20 Acts 2:38 Partaking of the Lord’s Supper We believe Holy Communion is the rite of Christian worship. The partaking of the bread and the wine represents the sacrifice Christ paid for our deliverance from sin. When we partake we do this in remembrance of his death until he comes. 1Corintuhians 11:23 The Second Coming of Christ We believe in the second coming of Christ and his rule upon the earth. 1Thess 4:16: 1Corinthians 15:24-17 Revelations 22:7 Rev. 22:20
