OUR MISSION
Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World -- one soul at a time.
Oregon United Methodist is open to all those who profess their belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our worship is traditional, accompanied most of the year by an adult choir and on special occasions by a children's choir. We are active in our community, serving as Jesus' hands and feet in South Holt County and beyond. We have Sunday School classes across the generations, and regularly offer short-term Bible studies.

BELIEFS
United Methodists believe in actualizing their faith in community — actions speak louder than words. The three simple rules are: “Do no harm. Do good. Stay in love with God.” Some beliefs we share with other Christians are the Trinity (God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit) and Jesus’ birth, death and Resurrection.
United Methodists serve the world over, showing Christ’s love through tangible means. From sustainable water systems to health care, micro-lending, advocacy and helping eliminate malaria deaths, United Methodists have many ways for people to live out their faith in community. Many United Methodists are active in both local missions and global efforts. The Oregon United Methodist Church has invested heavily in supporting wells that provide clean water for the people of Mozambique.
The United Methodist Church believes God's love for the world is an active and engaged love, a love seeking justice and liberty. We cannot just be observers. So we care enough about people's lives to risk interpreting God's love, to take a stand, to call each of us into a response, no matter how controversial or complex. The church helps us think and act out of a faith perspective, not just respond to all the other "mind-makers-up" that exist in our society.
