Our Mission
The Bible tells us this about Jesus:
"There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace" Isaiah 9:7 (NASB)
The word for government is dominion or rule. The rule of Jesus over all of creation will continue to increase. Jesus is currently seated on His throne, ruling and reigning.
You might be thinking, "If Jesus is ruling and reigning right now, why is the world such a mess?" Good question. When Jesus walked the earth, He went around doing good, healing everyone, and destroying the works of the devil. (Acts 10:38, 1 John 3:8)
The life He lived was in part an example for His followers to imitate. He demonstrated what a true disciple should look like. He said we, the Church, would do the same things He did and greater. Jesus instructed His followers to heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, and cast out demons. (John 14:12, Matthew 10:8)
Jesus' rule and dominion are to be carried out today by His Church. The Church is the visible representation of Jesus on the earth. Our mandate is to demonstrate His kingdom, so the world can see His kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. (Luke 11:20, Luke 12:32, Matthew 6:10)
If the Church will not follow Jesus as He instructed us, to do the same things He did, then there will be little or no change in our world. The devil will continue to influence people to follow him and to oppose God. But we believe the Church has been given authority and power to accomplish everything God wants done. The Church, doing what she was called to do, is the hope for change in the world.
That's our MISSION. To do and teach others to do, from a place of intimacy with and total dependence on Him, Jesus Christ.
