Our Mission

To exalt Christ & Share His love as we Nurture the Saints, Evangelize the Lost, & Worship and Serve the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Our Vision We exist to know Christ & make Him known as we develop & equip the family of faith to share the love & hope of Jesus Christ. This mission is accomplished thru the following core principles. Nurture – (Discipleship & Ministry) 2 Cor. 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become NEW.” John 13:34, 35 – “A NEW commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” Ephesians 4:11, 12 – “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ…” Evangelism – (Outreach & Missions) Matthew 28:18-20 – “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” Acts 2:47 – “And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Worship – (Prayer, Individual & Corporate Worship) Matthew 21:13 – “And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”” Acts 2:46 – “So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people.” Romans 12:1 – “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.” (NIV) Psalm 40:3 – “He has put a NEW song in my mouth—Praise to our God…” Serving – (Serving God by Serving Others) Romans 6:18 says, “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves [or servants] of righteousness.” Ephesians 2:10 tells us that “we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Titus writes that [Christ Jesus] “gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.” Paul goes further to say that our reasonable act of service is to, “offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God…”

About Mountain View Church

In our worship services we aim to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to openly worship. Therefore you may experience more music and singing than you are accustomed to, both old and new. Enjoy the worship time – stand, sit, go to the altar to pray, or whatever makes you more comfortable in the presence of the Lord. There is no incorrect posture for worship, just have a surrendered heart and expect to meet God.

BELIEFS

GOD is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, I Peter 1:2, II Corinthians 13:14) MAN is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although God designed man to have fellowship with him, man became alienated from God through disobedience. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and choose to sin against God. Man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his own efforts. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-6, Isaiah 53:6a, Romans 3:23, Colossians 1:21, Isaiah 59:1-2) JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5; 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, I Timothy 6:14-15, Titus 2:13) SALVATION is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6; 1:12, Titus 3:5, Galatians 3:26, Romans 5:1) BAPTISM Baptism by immersion is done for people who have put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. Through baptism we publicly identify ourselves as a follower of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20, Matthew 3:13-15, Acts 2:38) ETERNAL SECURITY Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security. (John 10:29, II Timothy 1:12, Hebrews 7:25; 10:10-14, I Peter 1:3-5) ETERNITY People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:16, 14:17; Romans 6:23, 8:17-18; Revelation 20:15; 1 Cor 2:7-9) THE HOLY SPIRIT is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, spiritual gifts and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to live under His control daily. (II Corinthians 3:17, John 16:7-13; 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, I Corinthians 2:12; 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, Galatians 5:25, Ephesians 5:18) THE BIBLE is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. (II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21, II Timothy 1:13, Psalm 119:105,160, Psalm 12:6, Proverbs 30:5) THE FAMILY God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race. The husband and wife are of equal worth before God. The marriage relationship models the way God relates to His people.
