BELIEFS
At Hastings Berean Bible Church, we believe the Bible is God’s Word. The Bible teaches us that God created us and loves us deeply but that we have all turned away from Him by living life our own way. The Bible calls this sin. Sin separates us from God and leads to eternal death, but God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to live a perfect life and die in our place. When Jesus rose again He conquered sin and death for us so that by trusting in Him our sins can be forgiven and we can experience the eternal life that comes from a right relationship with God.
When we trust Jesus, we become His followers (disciples). This means we try to live the kind of life He’s called us to. It also means we join Him in the mission of helping others learn how to become disciples. We can’t do this on our own so God sends His Spirit to us when we trust Jesus. As we let the Spirit change our hearts we become new people. God’s Word (the Bible) guides us in our relationship with Him and pursuit of His mission. We also need each other’s help as we learn to live out God’s mission, together.
