We know the world is not a perfect place. We also know God has given us Jesus whose life, death, and resurrection show us another way. We have been entrusted with love, gifts, and community that can make a difference. Here at Parkside we believe our purpose is to share the love of Christ, build community, and serve our neighbors. In the words of the Prophet Micah “and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)

Kenmore/North Buffalo Food Pantry - A little over ten years ago, the Kenmore/North Buffalo Food Pantry needed a new home. The people of Parkside Lutheran welcomed the pantry with open arms and hearts. The pantry is located on the Depew Avenue side of the church, open on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 1:00, serving the 14214, 14216, and 14217 zip codes. We average about 225 households a month. The pantry is completely staffed by volunteers from Parkside Lutheran Church and the North Buffalo community.
Buffalo Burrito Project - Every Tuesday, a different Lutheran congregation makes burritos and distributes them out to people who are hungry in downtown Buffalo. Parkside volunteers support this minitry on the fourth Tuesday of every month. We are always looking for volunteers to meet at 5pm and help prepare 100+ burritos. A second group of volunteers is neded to walk the two mile loop downtown. We are always collecting donations of water bottles, socks, feminine hygiene products, hats, gloves, and granola bars to pass out along with the burritos.
Vacation Bible School - For one week each summer, Parkside Lutheran hosts a week long Vacation Bible School. Kids in grades Pre-K through grade 6 hear bible stories, play fun games, learn silly songs, make friends, and learn about the love of Jesus. Last year over 50 children from North Buffalo participated in the VBS program. Community Garden - In May 2026, Parkside Lutheran Church planted a Community Garden, in collaboration with the Kenmore/North Buffalo Food Pantry. The goal of this garden is to provide fresh produce Food Pantry Clients.

Practicing Hospitality – Jesus welcomed the little children, broke bread with outcasts, and proclaimed the Good News to all. Loving Boldly - Jesus challenged traditions to demonstrate God’s justice and love of neighbor. His compassionate and sacrificial love inspires us to take risks. Cultivating Community - Jesus built communities that transformed lives. We are the body of Christ and we are called to continue this ministry of transformation.
