OUR MISSION
Our mission is simple. Since the Lord's church is the "pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15), our purpose is to promote the teachings of Christ and to give our greatest effort to live by those teachings (John 1:14; 14:6; 2 John 9). Many religious groups have shifted their focus from spiritual teaching to social and recreational activities. This shift in emphasis has resulted in a neglect of man's most important need, i.e., preparing the soul to meet its Maker (Mark 8:36-37). Christians are commanded, "Whatever you do in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus" (Colossians 3:17); this means that our teaching and practice must be authorized by the New Testament. We, at Chardon, strive to meet this divine requirement both in our lives and in our work together as a congregation.
ABOUT CHURCH OF CHRIST
We are a group who believe in the truth of Jesus Christ. The Bible, as God’s holy, inspired Word, is our only guide to establishing and maintaining the good works that He has in His plan for us. We know that the only way to have a relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ, is to read and follow his teachings (John 14:15-18). If we follow Christ’s example and live faithfully, then we are promised forgiveness (1 John 1:9).. This Church of Christ church serves Geauga County OH

BELIEFS
As Christians there is only one reliable source for answers to questions of a spiritual nature: the Bible. The writers of the New Testament recognized that the Old Testament had been inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17) and we do as well. The New Testament also claims an authority for itself in that Jesus and His apostles were given authority and that the Word of God was not to be perverted or changed, but rather respected and rightly divided (Matthew 28:18; Hebrews 1:1-2; Galatians 1:8-9). We want to be a people who know God’s Word, not just to gain knowledge, but to gain a relationship with Christ by obeying Him (John 14:15).
