About New Testament Fellowship

New Testament Fellowship is an assembly redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ; and follow the teachings of Christ and His apostles. Our services include acapella singing (psalms, hymns, spiritual songs), clear Bible teaching from the KJV (both doctrine and practice), prayer, and the Lord's supper with like-hearted believers. A family-oriented church that welcomes all ages and ethnic groups, our goal is to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness. We are not Charismatic, Contemplative or Liturgical; but value the joy of following the Lord Jesus Christ according to His Word.

BELIEFS

We believe in one Triune God who is forever known in three Persons as Father, Son (the Lord Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit. They are co-Creator of all there is; and made all things in six literal days. The 66 books of the Bible are the infallible, inspired, authoritative Word of God. The King James Version of the Bible is the accurate translation of these manuscripts (Masoretic and Textus Receptus) in the English language. Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary, fulfilled all the Jewish prophecies regarding the Messiah in His birth, life, teachings, death and resurrection. His death on the cross is sufficient for the sins of all who will repent and trust in Him as Lord and Saviour. He is currently reigning as King, "of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end..." (Isa 9:7). The call to all men, women and young people is to repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15). When a person forsakes their sins and receives Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, they are called by the Lord to be baptized (submersed) to proclaim their decision to die to self and rise to new life in Christ (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Rom 6). Those who are truly of Christ's redeemed church live separately from the world. Their speech, attitudes, dress and lifestyle is truly "set apart" for their Lord. Thus, modesty, humility, purity and simplicity should be "normal" to those who call upon the name of the Lord. Riches are not to be sought; but honest pay for honest labor is valued. The disciple of the Lord Jesus recognizes that the love of money is the root of all evil, and does not seek to store up riches in this world. Rather, they purchase what is absolutely needed, and provide generously for the needs of the poor (1 Tim 6). We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus Christ for His redeemed church, from every tribe and nation. Upon His return, the saved will caught up to be with Him in heaven forever. The dead in Christ will rise first, and both the dead and living believers will be given eternal bodies which shall never grow sick or old. Those who have rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and remained in their sins will be judged according to the Scriptures, and consigned to an everlasting punishment in hell. The Holy Spirit (third Person of the Godhead) empowers every believer to live victoriously for Christ, produces evidence of regeneration by growth of the fruit of the Spirit in each believer, and imparts spiritual gifts for the glory of God. We do not believe that the miraculous gifts are functioning today, but that God answers prayer miraculously. We believe that Christ heals the sick, according to James 5:16; but healing is not "guaranteed" in the atonement. We believe in the Biblical teaching of male leadership in the home and church. That men ought to love their wives as Christ loves the church; and women are submitted to their spiritual leaders (husbands for the married, fathers and brethren for single women). Both are equal in the sight of God regarding salvation, but have unique places in the Body of Christ. Even so, all are to submit one to another in Christian love and service. Worship is to be "in spirit and truth" that is as the Holy Spirit teaches from the Scriptures. Because of this, we enjoy the beauty of uplifted voices praising God in the beauty of holiness. Not seeking a kingdom on this earth, we choose to remain simple in worship, lifestyle, and church life. Our offerings are aimed at ministering to the poor, mission work, and New Testament gospel work.
