ABOUT TENNESSEE VALLEY UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST CHURCH
This congregation was established in 1949 and has always been a leading progressive voice for religious tolerance and social justice in East Tennessee. We welcome all, period, no exceptions. Our worship style is modern and informal. We strive to maintain high standards of both discourse and music, the latter combining both traditional and contemporary styles.
We find inspiration in the Bible and Christian writers as well as in other world religions, science and art. We search for truth, not proof of dogma.

BELIEFS
Unitarian Universalism is a non-creedal religion. We promote the following seven concepts, the so-called 7 Principals.
(1) The inherent worth and dignity of every person.
(2) Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.
(3) Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations.
(4) A free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
(5) The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations, and in society at large.
(6) The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.
(7) Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
