Our Mission

ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF POTTERY Who We Are The School of Pottery is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, teens, families, and their communities through the language of the arts enabling them to reach their full potential. Through the financial support of others the School of Pottery is able to offer classes to those who would otherwise be unable to attend. Our operational structure consists of the outreach art school, an artist studio, gallery, store, ecommerce store, and a church chapel. Chapel services take place in the schools studio space much like many modern celebratory contemporary interdenominational Christian services. Who We Serve We work in Austin, Texas and the surrounding area serving all people, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or economics. What We Do We provide arts in education assistance to children, teens, families, and their communities affected by financial and educational challenges. We work with communities to develop artistic skills, art appreciation, arts in education regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or economics in a model consistent with the true character and nature of Jesus Christ. Why We Serve Motivated by our faith in Jesus Christ, we serve alongside the poor, oppressed, and less fortunate as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people.

About School of Pottery

We are not your traditional contemporary church. We are in fact a community of believing artists and artisans. Through the language of the arts we express the love of Jesus Christ to our community by giving back through arts in education. Our gatherings are all about celebration utilizing the arts to express and worship. You will see potters wheels, artists easels, singers, and dancers in our worship service.

Through the financial support of others the School of Pottery is able to offer classes to those who would otherwise be unable to attend. Our Statement of Faith is consistant with that of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) Our operational structure consists of the outreach art school, an artist studio, gallery, store, ecommerce store, and a church chapel. Chapel services take place in the schools studio space much like many modern celebratory contemporary interdenominational Christian services. We are a place to come and create in an atmosphere of family and friends, sharing the love of clay and the arts. This is our way of sharing our skills, knowledge, and our love for creativity. To be a positive influential force in our community. The School of Pottery offers programs for adults, families, and underprivileged or at risk youth. Giving back through arts in education We provide arts in education assistance to children, teens, families, and their communities affected by financial and educational challenges. We work with communities to develop artistic skills, art appreciation, arts in education regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, or economics in a model consistent with the true character and nature of Jesus Christ. We teach wheel throwing, hand building, sculpting, glazing, and firing. The goal of our classes are to give an introduction and continuing education in the ceramic arts. You will have the ability to create functional pottery as well as sculpted pieces. We want you to learn what it takes to throw a pot, hand build, and sculpt... but it's just as important to us that you have a good experience. We give back to our community through our pottery outreach. We offer beginner, and advanced classes as well as studio and kiln time for the skilled ceramic artist. Please contact use for class times and ask about our scholarship programs. Many of our classes can be free of charge based on your circumstances. Our goal is to turn no one away

BELIEFS

OUR BELIEF SYSTEM (A Foursquare Church With A Statement of Faith is consistant with that of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) ) •We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. •We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. •We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. •We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. •We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. •We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. •We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
