About University United Methodist Church

University United Methodist Church (UUMC) is a welcoming and inclusive church in Fort Worth where there’s room to ask questions, build meaningful relationships, serve others, and grow in faith. At the heart of who we are is a simple belief: the love of Jesus Christ transforms lives. Everything we do is to share that love with others. When you visit UUMC, you’ll find people of different ages, backgrounds, and stages of faith learning and growing together. Whether church has always been part of your life, you’re returning after some time away, or you’re simply curious, you are welcome here. We offer three distinct worship experiences. On Sundays, there is Sanctuary Worship, an intergenerational service with weekly Communion at 10:00 AM, and Community Worship, a casual and interactive service gathered around tables at 11:00 AM. Wiggle Church is a playful, hands-on Thursday evening worship experience created especially for families with young children that includes playtime at 5:00 PM, worship at 5:30 PM, and a provided dinner at 6:00 PM. Life at UUMC extends well beyond worship. Children and students have spaces to learn, play, ask questions, and discover faith in ways that make sense for their age. Adults can find community through small groups, Bible studies, young adult ministry, United Women in Faith, Quilting Ministry, and other opportunities to connect and grow. Serving our neighbors is also an important part of who we are. Berry Sweet Babies supports parents and families with young children by providing free diapers, wipes, and newborn to 3T clothing. Our ongoing partnership with Presbyterian Night Shelter includes supporting the Journey Home Food Closets, packing hundreds of sack lunches each month, and serving lunch in person at the shelter. Throughout the year, you’ll also find other hands-on service projects and mission opportunities in Fort Worth and beyond. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you walk through our doors. Come as you are, bring your questions, and find a place to belong. We’d love to welcome you to University UMC.

BELIEFS

At University United Methodist Church, we believe in God’s grace and love made known through Jesus Christ and in the Holy Spirit at work in our lives and in the world. We believe every person is created in the image of God, deeply loved, and invited into a life of faith, hope, and love. As a United Methodist congregation, we look to Scripture as foundational to our faith and draw on tradition, reason, and experience as we seek to understand and live out God’s Word. We believe faith is something we continue to grow into—asking questions, learning together, and allowing God’s grace to shape how we live. We believe the Church is called to be a community of welcome, belonging, compassion, and service. Following the example of Jesus, we seek to love our neighbors, care for those in need, work for justice and reconciliation, and share God’s grace through both our words and our actions. At UUMC, you don’t have to have all the answers or be at a particular place in your faith journey to belong. There is room for your questions, your story, and you.
