About Barre Evangelical Free Church
We are a multi-generational, multi-ethnic congregation seeking to live, love, and serve like Jesus. Although we bring different backgrounds, ethnicities, experiences, and personalities, we share a common devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. We enjoy meeting and visiting with newcomers so, if you visit, plan to arrive in plenty of time for fellowship, coffee, and snacks at 10:15 AM...or better yet, join us for Sunday School at 9:30 AM! We worship through gospel-centered and biblically-based songs, both traditional hymns and contemporary music. We use an expositional sermon style, which means we move systematically through passages of Scripture to understand God's lessons for us with practical applications from the Bible. We are committed to giving God our best whether through music or teaching and strive to make our Sunday morning worship a God-honoring and welcoming experience for all.

BELIEFS
God Centered: Jesus Christ is our focus. We follow, proclaim, preach, teach, and pattern our daily lives after Jesus to the glory of the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit. "For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better." (Ephesians 1:15‑17) // Bible Based: God has spoken to us through the Scriptures. The Bible is our ultimate authority and the foundation upon which we build our lives. "All Scripture is God‑breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteous, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16‑17) // Devoted to Prayer: It is our desire to be a church family who faithfully communicates with our Lord through regular prayer in worship, praise, thanksgiving, and by seeking God's wisdom and guidance in everything according to His will. "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42) // Genuine Community: Life is especially hard when we feel alone. God has invited us to be a part of His family. We foster a community of all generations. Our faith deepens as we do life together and share in each other's greatest joys and deepest struggles. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another." (John 13:34‑35) // Outreach Focused: Jesus has called us to complete His mission on earth. We exist to equip, grow, and make more disciples of Jesus. "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'" (Matthew 28:18‑20) // Cheerful Generosity: We long to be a community of servants, fully devoted to Christ and His cause, where everyone is equipped and unleashed to invest their time, talents, and treasures for the glory of God and the good of our community. "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
