BELIEFS

Seventh-day Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons ~ the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit ~ make up one God (Matt. 28:19; John 10:30). They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem (Matt. 1:18-23; Luke 1:26-33; John 1:14) and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father’s will (2 Cor. 5:21). Adventists believe that when Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world (John 1:29) and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone (Luke 24:44-47). Adventists believe that when Jesus returned to heaven following the resurrection, He left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor (John 16:7-15). He promised to return to earth a second time (John 14:1-3) to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day (Matt. 24:29-31; 2 Cor. 15:51-54; 2 Thess. 4:16-18). Adventists believe God made a very special day for mankind ~ the Sabbath (Mark 2:27) ~ to foster an intimate relationship with him, His crowning work of creation (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7). Seventh-day Adventists believe in the holiness of the Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 31:13-17) and celebrate that holiness in worship on the seventh day of the week, Saturday (Exodus 20:8-11). Jesus taught about the Sabbath and observed the Sabbath in His life lived on this earth (Luke 4:16) ~ even observing the Sabbath in His death (Luke 23:54-56). He then proclaimed the Sabbath would endure until the end (Matt. 24:20; Isaiah 66:22-23; Rev. 14:6-7). His disciples continued this Sabbath worship without fail to the end of their lives (Acts 13:14, 42-44 17:2, 18:4), Adventists believe water baptism by immersion demonstrates this life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life He has won for all. This baptism is the sign of the commitment of the believer to the new life (Romans 6:1-11). Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything ~ the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us ~ is a part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him (Eph. 4:20-24; 1 Cor. 3:16-17, 6:19-20; Galatians 5:16-24; 1 John 2:15-17). New Life Adventist Ministry is committed to teach the everlasting Gospel (Matt. 28:18-20; Rev. 14:6-7) and uphold these principles of God’s Word (2 Tim. 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21) so that our family, friends, co-workers and neighbors might know the amazing grace given to us by Jesus Christ and His Father through their great plan of salvation ~ the sacrifice of Himself for us (John 3:16-17).
