About Friends Community Church
Friends Community Church is a Bible-based Christian church in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, of Quaker roots. While it is focused on the serving the current population of Door County, it's history is unequaled in this area. It is known as "The Church of the Old Rugged Cross," because in 1913, the songwriter George Bennard held a series of revival meetings at this location and together with local musicians, sang the hymn of the same name- written by him - in its entirety for the first time.
