ABOUT WALNUT CREEK CHURCH - DOWNTOWN
Located in the heart of Des Moines' historic East Village, Walnut Creek Downtown is a thriving Christ-centered community. Our location offers multiple weekend services, dynamic worship, Bible studies, Kid's classes, community service projects, and many ways to get connected with other believers.
Our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ who love and worship God drives everything we do. Whether you are unsure about your beliefs about God and eternity, you are a new believer and are looking for authentic fellowship, or you have been following Christ your entire life, we invite you to see everything Walnut Creek Downtown has to offer.

BELIEFS
Walnut Creek Church is a vibrant multi-site Christian community in the greater Des Moines area that is passionate about Jesus. We desire to love people practically and see all grow in a meaningful, rich relationship with God.
There are two guiding principles that drive our ministries and efforts: the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
The Great Commandment
"Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." — Mark 12:29-31
The Great Commission
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." — Matthew 28:19-20
We believe that one of the most important ways to obey the Great Commandment (to Love God and Love people) is by obeying the Great Commission and sharing the wonderful hope we have in Christ.
