The church is not a building, rather it is two or more believers who put their faith and trust in what Jesus did for them on the cross to save them from their sin and from themselves. Because we are saved by the grace of God, we should be examples of that grace to others. We should strive to exemplify Jesus in our love, mercy, and forgiveness. As a church, we should bear one another's burdens and love one another as Christ loves us. After receiving Christ's free gift of salvation through grace, we are to grow in our relationship to Him and strive to live more as He would live. It is only through the Holy Spirit and His strength that we are able to do so. As we grow in Christ, God calls us to be His "lights" to a dark and dying world. We are to use our God-given talents and gifts to make God known among all those who are brought in to our lives. We can do "all things through Christ who gives us strength" and without Him, we can do nothing.
